AFNA Netball 2008 Barbados vs Canada (Friday 07-25-08)
AFNA Netball 2008 St. Lucia vs St Vincent and the Grenadines (Friday 07-25-08)
I would say that it must have been tough on these two teams, especially host St. Vincent. I understand that they have one of the best names in the game, not just regionally but worldwide. It would be better for them not to hold the pressure of this result, but see it as a shrinkable stumbling block.
St. Lucia looked good all the time, in every way. I guess their real error was that they saved their best game for last. I wish I knew something about this game, if only to be more critical in a constructive way of course.
Apart from the photogenic outfits and ballerina styled athletics, I would rather patronize basketball. There are just too many rules in the "pretty, oh so pretty" game of netball.

AFNA Netball 2008 Jamaica vs St Vincent and the Grenadines (Tuesday 07-23-08)

The team which finished first was Jamaica. Last place went to Canada. Jamaica and St. Vincent and the Grenadines are seen here battling it out for national honour. I know that all the teams in the competition were good. The two most obvious elements, to this novice of the game, that kept some teams down were fitness and confidence.

AFNA Netball 2008 Trinidad and Tobago vs Barbados (Sunday 07-20-08)

Bajan I am, and Bajan I shall always be. Make no mistake about it my friend. However, It was Trinidad and Tobago that invited me to come watch them play netball. I was in attendance as a result of the invitation; that was all. Barbados finished third behind the girls from down south who themselves finished after the Jamaicans. Talk about being pulled in different directions. My heart was with Barbados all the way. What other parts of my heart might have been up to is a different matter all together. I will make no excuse for the fact that as an artist I often get attached to events, especially when they are big and international.I did not understand what I was watching when Trinidad tried successfully to drown Barbados, but it hurt a bit because the scoreboard was very legible. I will in time find out what it is that the Trini girls are eating and have some of it shipped to Bim. Perhaps an adoption is in order even if it means dressing the whole southern team in yellow, blue and black.
